Torbay Council's Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence Team has access to various datasets from NHS Digital, the Office of National Statistics, and other organisations.

We produce area or topic reports based on these datasets for council and partner colleagues. Contact us via statistics@torbay.gov.uk

Hospital Episode Statistics (HES)

Anonymised hospital inpatient admission and accident & emergency data attendance data from NHS Digital. Used, for example to calculate alcohol-related hospital admissions.

Office of National Statistics (ONS)

Population and census data; house prices and house price affordability; NOMIS official labour market statistics and census data; Open Geography Portal.

Primary Care Mortality Dataset (PCMD)

Registered deaths. Used, for example, to determine the principal causes of premature death in Torbay.

Public Health Outcomes Framework (PHOF)

Public Health England (PHE) publish data on a wide range of health indicators at national, regional and local authority level, e.g. Torbay. By checking our HES queries against these, we can have confidence in our calculations at ward or LSOA level.

Police
